”Rainforest Suite” Pop-Up Project

This may look like a usual architectural design studio in the heart of Athens but it is not. Based on the principle of “Biophilic design”, a hotel suite was created inside the working space of the studio.
The installation, “The Rainforest Suite”, was designed by the architecture studio “The Interesting Design” and his director-interior architect, Achilleas Kritikos and will be hosted for a limited time.
Shapes, colors and textures replicate those you may find in nature. The bed headboard with the wavy line looks like it was created from a big tree trunk that was found in the jungle. Tropical living plants were placed from behind, creating a natural refuge for the mind and the soul. At the same time, natural light, enters through the windows and ties all the elements together. The temporary “Rainforest Suite” also includes a lighting installation, that creates a dreamy atmosphere during the night. The artificial lighting consists of a RGB led tape that is fitted around the bed creating a blue light. One of the benefits of blue light according to Chromotherapy is that clears the mind of stress and anxiety and also relaxes the body. The bed, obviously low, with the wide edging, provokes a sense of calmness and tranquility.
